The short version

Aquarealm collects no personal data. Everything you make — tanks, fish, plants, water readings, feeding history, Princess Magenta's opinions — is stored only on your device, in local app storage. Nothing is sent to us. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no trackers.

Data stored on your device

Tank layouts, settings, and preferences are saved locally so the app remembers your aquarium between sessions. Deleting the app deletes this data. You can also export layouts as files; those files stay wherever you choose to save or share them.

Camera and photos

Aquarealm can use your camera or your photo library so that you can photograph your own fish, shrimp, and plants and see them appear in your virtual tank. These photos never leave your device. They are stored only in the app's local storage, are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we could not access them even if we wanted to — we have no servers. You can delete any photo from inside the app at any time. If you choose to share one — for example to enter the Fish Hunt or Shrimp Hunt — that happens through your device's own share sheet, and only if you decide to do it.

Finding a fish store

Aquarealm has one feature that touches the internet: Find a Fish Store. If — and only if — you choose to use it, the ZIP code you type in is sent to two public services to look up aquarium shops near you: Zippopotam, which turns a ZIP code into an approximate map location, and the OpenStreetMap Overpass API, which returns the shops. We never use GPS, we never ask for your device's location, and you always type the ZIP yourself. We do not store it — we have no servers to store it on. If you never open that screen, Aquarealm never touches the network at all.

Purchases

Aquarealm is a one-time paid app. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. Your purchase is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see or store your payment details. See Apple's and Google's privacy policies for how they handle purchase data.

Children

Aquarealm is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
